Happy Fathers Day, Lee! This was taken before church...daddy and his girls!
This probably won't be long tonight as I am trying to get ready for tomorrow and going back to work. We went to Nashville last week for Pop's funeral on weds -- so since Saige had to leave for church camp on thursday she got to stay home with Granny and Grandma as we didn't want her to miss camp. (she's been looking forward to it since Dec...) Thus far we haven't gotten any calls so she must be doing Ok - they come home tomorrow and I think Mallory misses her sister more than she wants to admit!
Here's some pics from the last week or so....
As you can see Kassidy was not too fond of this idea of a long car ride at first.... but she did finally settle down and read some books and play....ten hours is a LONG time to be in a carseat!
Mallory and Kassidy were happy to go swimming at the hotel --- unfortunately the pool was freezing, so we had to resort to the lukewarm hot tub for our swimming.
Mallory also found that the jacuzzi tub in the hotel made for some great entertainment! Too bad we don't have one of those at home!
Like the drool spot on my shoulder? LOL
One of the highlights of our trip to Nashville was lunch at Rainforest Cafe with Lee's stepmom, Charlotte. (aka Mimi) We always have to make a stop there to let the girls eat in this awesome atmosphere...since we don't have one in Topeka. Kassidy liked the big colorful fish and wasn't scared of the rainstorm at all.
The trip was a quick one - but we did get to see a lot of Lee's family, so that was a blessing. This was Mallory's first funeral so she had a lot of questions, but she did pretty well overall. It was tough as it upset her to see everyone crying....but she understood that we miss Pop. We talked about how he is in heaven now and he isn't in pain and got to hang out with Jesus - Mallory thinks thats cool. (who wouldn't?) It is amazing to see things through the eyes of a child - they are so innocent and precious!
Will try to keep up with my blogging better - this past week was a whirlwind!
