Favorite Things

I have been asked by some of my friends what my favorite baby things are...there are some neat things out now, that is for sure!

Kassidy's favorite is her Pacimal, Macey Mouse. I don't have a good picture of it, but here she is holding it in her hand so you can kind of get an idea. It's a little stuffed animal with a binky on it's head. She LOVES to play with it, chew on it, and when she gets tired she will pop it in and go to sleep.

One of my newest finds is the Raz Teether --- it's a pacifier type thing that is GREAT for those chewing fiends! Kassidy is just now starting to chew on everything, including her fist, and she is thinking this might be a great alternative to her Pacimal just to change it up some.

Our other new favorite is the Boon spoon -- WOW I wish I could've come up with this one! I could be rich! It's a fantabulous little spoon that holds the pureed baby food in it and you squeeze the food out onto the spoon. Literally making NO MESS in comparison to feeding them with a regular baby spoon. It is incredibly cool. We are hooked. (now can we keep her on pureed foods forever??)

We are suffering with allergies pretty badly this year - Saige is a coughing mess right now as the pollen count seems to be through the roof in Kansas. It is the pits! It makes for some very grumpy, very annoying children as they are constantly picking at one another when they don't feel well. I am hoping that we can have a quiet day today as tomorrow we are hoping to take Saige and Mallory to Worlds of Fun as a birthday celebration for Saige. (they had to earn enough stickers on their calendars in order to be eligible to go...and it has taken awhile to accomplish that!) Kassidy will stay home and play with Grandma all morning and then spend the afternoon with Granny Gayla. I think the girls will benefit from some big girl time with mom and dad alone.

I will leave you with some pics.....

Saige got a hula hoop for her birthday from Grandma and she has mastered using it around her waist this week - for a short period of time, that is. She LOVES to be outside and is proud to be able to ride her bike without training wheels. She learned that in a day and with only a HUGO bruise on her cheek as her one big fall was when the handlebar bonked her cheekbone.

Mallory is a cheeseball. She loves to play with Saige's new bubbles - and to bounce on the trampoline. She is prone to meltdowns lately and I am not sure if it is the age or if it is her allergies as she is a royal mess whenever she is sick. She keeps us on our toes.

Kassidy has decided that maybe tummy time isn't the end of the world now. She would MUCH rather be held or sit in her bouncer, but she is tolerating it better. She loves to be on the floor with the girls and play with them. She is pretty sure that they hung the moon!

Softball Pictures

Our newest adventure is to take up softball. Saige and Mallory are on the same team this year, which makes it easier on us. They are proud to be the Purple Penguins!
Here they are practicing before their first game with daddy. Catching is awfully hard when you aren't used to using a glove...

Saige as catcher and batting.

Mallory batting & catching...yes she is a lefty!

OK so I have to laugh at Saige off in the field playing in the dirt! Maybe her head isn't in the game like we thought?

Here is Kassidy at the first game. She wasn't feeling much like cheerleading as it was darn chilly. Funny as now the games will be SO hot...
I am sure this experience will bring us many memories. It will be interesting to see if they develop the knack for softball that their Aunt Kelly has! They were thrilled when she was able to make it to one of their games and see them in action. Saige is doing quite well learning to hit the ball when pitched - she hits straight down the 3rd baseline. Mallory is still tiny and having trouble swinging that big heavy bat - but she knocks it off the tee and takes off running very well! She is doing wonderfully for as young as she is.

Going to learn to blog...

OK since I have become addicted to reading other mother's blogs I decided maybe it was time I learned to blog myself...a good place for documenting events and things as the girls say and do some of the funniest things. I am sure that as a mother of three I will forget them sooner rather than later if I don't get them written down somewhere!

As you can see I have 3 redheads. Saige just turned 7 in May and is finishing up the first grade. Mallory will be 5 in July and has the reddest hair of all. This means she ALSO has the flaming temper and is passionate about things. (to put it nicely) Kassidy is almost 5 months old and she is very easy going and happy-go-lucky. I think God knew I needed an easy baby this time around as I am busy busy busy!

More later as I learn the ropes to this blogging thing!
