We had a WONDERFUL time at Worlds of Fun yesterday! Saige and Mallory were thrilled to have mom and dad all to themselves and they got along quite well. (usually they are either the best of friends or the worst enemies, no in between!) Here they are pictured as we waited to get on the Fury of the Nile.
We rode the Fury of the Nile three times in all...the last time Lee sat out (he didn't want to get
any wetter, smart man) and he took this pic of us headed around the curve. We got DRENCHED! The girls thought it was hilarious, but it was kinda sucky to have to get in the car while still damp an hour or so later and head home. Oh well...it was worth it to see them on it as they were giggling and laughing every time we splashed or bounced off the wall.
The girls liked riding the Bouncing Kangaroos. What was cool this year was that they are old enough (and more importantly TALL enough) to ride some of the big rides - so we weren't stuck in Camp Snoopy the entire time. Course I don't have pics of them on the big rides as we were on there with them! They liked the Scrambler and the Viking Voyager a lot. Mallory loved the Sea Dragon and Octupus, which Saige did not as she has decided she is scared of heights now. We had such a good time and it was
great to not have to drag a stroller and diaper bag with us...though next time we want Grandma and Kassidy to join us. The girls were pretty sure that Grandma would want to ride the Fury a trillion times and wouldn't care about getting wet. LOL
It did sprinkle for about ten minutes while we were there...so we went into the Snoopy Theatre where the girls were excited to meet Snoopy and spend their money on a stuffed Snoopy to take home. (you can see in Mallory's cheesy grin she is enthralled with him!)
I think Saige is going to be a photographer...or at least like pictures as much as her momma does. She took this pic of Mallory and I!
Not to be outdone, Mallory had to take one of Lee and I. She didn't cut our heads off this time, so she is improving tremendously with her technique.
Hopefully Mallory will grow a few more inches soon so she is tall enough to ride the big roller coasters. She is a daredevil and was royally ticked she isn't 48 inches yet as that is the cut off for a lot of the larger upside-down roller coasters. (she is 46 inches, thankfully, which is the cut off for some of the big rides, but not the roller coasters) Meanwhile Saige won't go NEAR anything that goes high like that anytime soon...another reason we need Grandma - so someone can stay behind with Saige while we ride those! Will be interesting to see which sister Kassidy takes after.
Speaking of Kassidy, here she is this morning, a happy clam. She had a great time yesterday at Grandma's house playing. Then when Grandma had to leave to go to a wedding she dropped her off at Granny's house and she played there until we got home around 8:30. She was a spoiled girl, being all alone and doted on all day!
Kassidy is almost 5 months old - where does the time go? Seems like just yesterday I was pregnant...now she is a squealing little bundle of joy!
Funny how when I have the time and she is wearing cute (and non baby food stained) clothes...she isn't really interested in smiling for pictures! ARGH! Oh well!
